WA players to represent Australia in the World Junior Baseball Championships

WA players to represent Australia in the World Junior Baseball Championships
 
The Australian AAA team will be participating in the 2010 World Baseball Championships in Thunder Bay, Canada from 23 July to 1 August, 2010.
 
WA have two players selected in the Australian AAA side, :
     
Jordan McDonald (Wanneroo Giants)·         ·        
Jake White (Morley Eagles)
·        
 
This selection is a great reward for the players who have put in the hard work with the WA State HEAT team and who have performed well at the  MLBAAP at Palm Meadows in the Gold Coast. Both players are also participants in the Diamond Academy under the direction of Don Kyle.
 
Jordan was awarded the Golden Glove for the second year running and was runner-up MVP at the MLBAAP.
 
Jake received the most improved player at the MLBAAP.
 

The Australian’s find themselves in Pool A with the following countries at 2010 World Junior Baseball Championships.  

·         Chinese Taipei
·         France
·         Italy
·         USA
·         Venezuela
 
The young Australian’s will battle it out against Venezuela in their opening game and will be looking to open their account early in the Championships with a victory. The Aussies will need to finish in the top 4 of their group to have any chance of finishing with a medal at the 2010 World Baseball Championships. See the schedule below.
